METAL GEAR SOLID 1 & 2 TIME LINE

2000	Richard Ames and Nastasha Romanenko divorce.
2004	Peter Stillman accidentally sets off bomb explosion in a church.
2005	Shadow Moses Incident (MGS)
	Solid Snake and Meryl Silverburgh escape Shadow Moses Island together. Afterwards whereabout unknown.
	Roy Campbell returns to retirement and lives a hermit's life.
	Hal Emmerich (Otacon) rescued from Shadow Moses as the only survivor of the terrorist incident. He did not return to Arms Tech, instead he returned home to England.
	Mei Ling returned to China and went to college.
	Naomi Hunter was arrested, but she escaped from prison three weeks later. (With the aid of Solid Snake highly probable.)
	Nastasha Romanenko left California and went into hiding. (Still keeping in contact with Richard Ames, at the time Lieutenant.)
	Revolver Ocelot starts spreading the metal gear test data all over the world.
	Fox Hound disbanded.
	George Sears (Solidus Snake) steps down from the presidency and is replaced by James Johnson.
	Solidus Snake goes underground with the help of Ocelot. (It was originally planned that Solidus be assassinated under the cover story of a death by illness.)
200X	Otacon establishes Anti-Metal Gear Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Philanthropy, together with Solid Snake, and with help from Nastasha Romanenko.
	Snake and Otacon destroy Metal Gears all over the world.
	Later on, Otacon receives information through Emma Emmerich (EE) about the transport of a US Navy prototype Metal Gear named Ray.
200X	Ocelot undergoes surgical transplant operation by an international medical team in Lyon, France, and receives Liquid Snake's right arm.
2007	United States Ship (U.S.S.) Discovery Incident (MGS2)
	Navy General Scott Dolph killed in the incident.
	Russian militia commander Sergei Gurlukovich killed in the incident.
	Solid Snake and Olga Gurlukovich rescued from the sunk tanker via small boat by Otacon.
	Images of Snake are spread over the media portraying him as a terrorist and Philanthropy as a terrorist organization.
	Offshore decontamination facility Big Shell built to take care of the oil spill caused by the destroyed tanker. Big Shell is only a facade, the real project is the underwater construction of Arsenal Gear.
	Commander Jackson, leader of Dead Cell and husband of Helena Dolph Jackson (Fortune), imprisoned at Leavenworth within half an year after the U.S.S. Discovery Incident. Helena's mother, unable to deal with the death of her husband and the imprisonment of her son-in-law, commits suicide. Helena, shocked by the series of events that happened to her family, loses her baby of three months pregnancy.
	Fortune joins the military.
	Dead Cell starting to act strangely and out of control after Commander Jackson's imprisonment.
	Otacon steals Liquid Snake's body which was kept in some facility by a certain organization, and buries it as Solid Snake.
	Jack (Raiden) moves to New York City.
	Jack meets Rosemary in front of Federal Hall on April 30th, not long after he moved to New York.
200X	Commander Jackson dies in prison. (It seems of natural health causes, and not from a secret assassination.)
	Dead Cell completely mad and out of control after Commander Jackson's death.
	Olga Gurlukovich gives birth in a hospital controlled by "The Patriots".
2008	Through a certain tragic event, Dead Cell ended up in a broken up condition, with only three members remaining. (This was half an year before the Big Shell Incident.)
2009	Big Shell Incident (MGS2)
	Terrorists take over the Big Shell early morning of April 29th.
